How do you keep ornamental cabbage or kale over the winter?
Hi Lynn, I’ve never had any problems and I’ve never done anything in particular to protect them. They can take the cold on very well. I had two in a planter on my windowsill and a few others in a garden bed further off from the house. The ones in the planter were smaller, I think because they didn’t get enough water since I have to water them, the other ones get rainwater and of course they have more soil to go around.
The ones in the bed though were fabulous and even when it dropped to 14-15° they still looked very happy. Where are you at, do you expect colder weather?
