Are professional gardeners still able to work at clients under UK coronavirus lockdown rules?

Hi Cosmo97, I believe technically yes. People who work are still allowed to travel to work when work cannot be done at home. Gardening for customers is definitely in that category.

It might be that the government would ramp up and basically only allow “vital” jobs to operate, but it hasn’t yet reached that stage. It has in other places, though, but not yet in the UK.

I wrote an article on the topic exactly, tell me if it helps:

Professional gardeners & coronavirus – can you still work in client’s gardens?

I tried to be as clear as possible, can still amend it if some things are unclear. Tell me what you think!

Yes, Chrisrose, you can go ahead and cut the grass in your front garden. Just only greet passing neighbors from afar – stay more than 6 feet / 2 meters away from them.
