Hi all! I’m growing a Chinese fan, Parlor and Ponytail palms. They are looking worse now and the leaves aren’t so bright as usual. I’ve never used fertilizers. My friend recommended to me Palm food, but I heard a lot of Palmgain. What experience do you have and what of list for example, would be suitable to my palms?

    • Palm Food 12-4-12
    • Miracle-Gro 3003010
    • PALMGAIN
    • TreeHelp Complete Palm Fertilizer Spikes
    • Palm Tree Liquid Fertilizer HighTech NPK

    Thanks in advance, Frank

Hi Frank, palms that lose their shiny bright aspect usually are running out of nutrients. I guess any of these is a good choice since they’re all designed for palms in the first place. If it’s been a while since your last repotting, some of the trace elements might also be depleted (such as iron and the like). Some of the fertilizers in your list seem to fill those in as well.

Personally, I made a batch of nettle tea and use it for my areca, it seems very happy!

PS: I added the items of your list directly so readers could have the information since the link was marked as spam.
