Beautiful flower but unknown to me

    It looks like a wild orchid to me.

    It’s an orchid, yes. And the name is Lady Orchid and grows in the wild. It’s usually mistaken for military orchid or monkey orchid. I for one love this orchid! I find it very elegant.

    Thanks to both of you!

    Now that I know it’s a Lady orchid, I looked at the flowers again as if looking for a clue for being named as such. And there, it seems like the petals were long-dressed ladies! I could only agree that they look elegant!

    Wow! I had never seen an orchid growing on the ground. I thought they always grew on trees, or at least on a branch. I learn a lot of new things on this forum!

    On the same topic ‘petals look like ladies’ – Where I am, we also have an orchid whose flowers look like lovely ladies dancing. And from that, we call it ‘dancing ladies’. See picture below.

    Ahhh… I really hope to get one growing at my backyard soon!
