Dear Sir/Madam,
We have in our front garden, on a residential street in central Plymouth, Devon, a beautiful tree. We have had it for about 10 years and it is about 16ft high. Every winter it has lots (but not masses) of tiny yellow flowers and the evergreen foliage has a purple tinge. It is much admired by passers-by, one of whom said he thought it was a ‘Mimosa Purpureum’. I have looked this up but can find no reference to it. Is he right?
