I’d like to plant a privacy hedge, and would like it to be an edible one. I was thinking Hazelnut. My planting space is a 4ft width by 20ft length. Is four 4ft wide enough for a hazelnut hedge?May 4, 2020 at 6:14 pm ReplybobkingerPrivate messageGreenhorn
Hi! yes, four feet is enough for sure. It’s a fun idea to make an edible hedge! you can also add bay laurel for herb leaves and mahonia. I have mahonia, tart berries and incredible blooming end evergreen leaves but slow-growing so maybe it’s only better for short hedges.May 4, 2020 at 9:19 pm Replyhands_and_dirtPrivate messageGreenhorn
Me too I think 4ft is enough for hazelnut hedge. It’s nice to have edible hedge because it’s not only ornamental but also source of food that’s good for the body… me myself love the idea and might have it next year. I’m considering highbush cranberry. Yummy berries!!
