    New to this forum…

I have a schefflera that I recently pruned the roots as they were starting to circle the planter. In addition, Last year I topped the plant as well to encourage side growth. While the plant seems healthy leaves are shiny and firm, it gets plenty of indirect sun, and is watered as advised it exhibits no any new growth. Is there anything I can do to get it to grow?

    Thanks,

    Allen

Hi Allen, good thing you cut away those circle runners, in the long run it would have suffered. Growth won’t start very quickly just after repotting, it’s got to get its roots back in order again. When you cut the roots, did you replace the soil mix with fresh stuff? Scheffies need food, too. Maybe a leaf plant fertilizer with higher nitrogen would do the trick.

Thanks for your reply. I did replace the soil. I also feed the plant a couple of times that was recommended for this plant upon replacing soil.

    Thanks for the information!
