Hi Tara in the long run in my experience, all potted plants turn yellow or sickly after two or three years of “hard water” watering. I found that simply using rain water from time to time, like once every few waterings, really helps “wash out” excess minerals. That and repotting with fresh soil occasionally, that’s all!
