I was out of town and my daughter was watering my indoor olive tree while I was away. We live in Toronto Canada and it’s too cold to leave it outside. All the leaves have fallen. Can I prune the tree now or wait until spring? Can it be saved? Please help as it was a gift from my beloved mother.
February 11, 2023 at 1:47 pm ReplyHas it been overwatered for a very long time? When did it lose its leaves, fairly recently like a couple weeks, or a longer time ago? Are the branches still a bit flexible or do they break / stiff ?
In any case stop all watering immediately! Also, if there’s a hole under the pot with a saucer underneath, try to uplift the pot by sticking a few pebbles or sturdy bottle caps or something so that air can seep in from below and help the soil dry out.
