Hello there. I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I have a potted olive tree that is about 5 years old and has a significant amount of new fruit that has started to grow. This tree has never fruited before so I was very surprised and excited to see this. Is there anything I should be doing to the tree to help the fruiting process and to keep the tree strong? Should I be fertilizing it? If so, what is the best kind of fertilizer to use?

I have a few olive trees and I’ve found that fermented nettle juice is really helpful. Do you have any stinging nettle growing in your garden? It’s exciting to see those tiny olives, but expect a few to fall off before they ripen. It shouldn’t be too many, though, maybe up to a third in my experience. Keep the pot well watered but not soggy.
