My only experience in growing vegetables is growing greens indoor. This is going to be my first year planting other things outside. How do you prepare the soil in this season? I can only think of adding compost which I’m afraid can be only very minimal compared to what’s supposed to be done.

I’m open to your ideas!  🙂 Thnks

Hi freshgreens, where do you live? Compost is a great place to start with and if there’s only one other thing a beginner should know, it’s MULCH! Try to get your hands on a bale of straw or shredded coconut husks or rice/wheat hulls and such. Spreading a layer of that in your growing bed, then only clear a little bit out near what you’re planting. You’ll save tons of time by avoiding weeds, watering… lots of advantages!
