I have a dwarf apricot tree planted in a pot last year. The leaves on the stem look healthy and no sign of insect infestation but the leaves on the branches have closed in which I believe to be leaf curl. Other than that there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong. I have copper fungicide. Could I use that now please. I would be grateful for your advice.

Hi Diane! It sure sounds like leaf curl. Usually it’s connected to aphids, have you seen any on your plant? Sometimes when there are too many the leaf curls up. But if there aren’t any aphids, then it’s for sure a fungus. You can apply the copper mix. Since the tree is small you can shield the fruits if any are forming while still spraying well. Best is to pick off any leaves that are infected though. Do this before spraying so you don’t waste any product. And if it rains after you spray you’ll have to spray again! On the label it says how much and how often to spray.
