With my age, gardening is just so much easier with raised gardening beds. Been thinking of having one done by a family member soon. A 1 square meter wooden box with a depth of 20 cm and feet that are 80 cm tall, is this enough for planting onions, garlic, bell pepper you know just simple veggies?

A 1 meter square, width wise it should be fine. As for depth, well I think a full meter tall might be too tall, no? Unless you’re quite tall, too? But 20 cm for the soil doesn’t seem likge enough, especially since you never really fill it to the top. Maybe add another 10 cm so your plant have a full 20-25 cm of soil? It’s ok to be shallow for onions and garlic (I grow mine in 10 cm pots they’re happy) but tomato and bell pepper need a little more.

I agree that 20 cm soil isn’t that deep.

    Great project @kurtney20!
