Double red althea, young rose of Sharon growth

    Planted the double red Althea about 6 weeks ago. It has not grown from the 23 inches it was when we planted it in our backyard. Can you please give me an idea of its growth pattern.

    Also for an FYI, it gets plenty of sun and water and received a time release fertilizer 2 weeks ago.

    I appreciate any tip you can provide.

    After transplanting, a shrub first works on its root system. Until the roots are up to speed, bud and leaf development is paused… That’s why nothing seems to be moving yet above ground. But it’ll come! Althea is also much more active at the end of summer than at the beginning, so that’s also a factor.
