Is it really not safe to eat some parts (that still look healthy) from moldy fruits and vegetables? For example: Slicing the moldy rotten half part of a tomato and use the other half for cooking.

I don’t take any chances for fear of getting sick. I just throw them away and try my best to better manage my fruits and vegetables next time.

For tomatoes, it is recommended to throw them away and not eat any remaining part. It is a soft fruit and somehow the molds can easily penetrate under the surface according to a video I saw.  Other hard food is okay to just cut the affected part. But still, I don’t eat any food with molds. Better safe than sorry!

If I can find that video, I’ll post the link here so you could also watch for yourself.

I agree. It’s risky especially with kids. Better freeze food when you know you can’t eat them right away.
